How to use the SEO Page Settings

The SEO Page Settings give you an overview of all your pages, including meta titles and descriptions, and helps you create content for this section quickly using AI.

If you prefer not to enable AI on your account, you can still use the SEO Page Settings by manually writing the meta tags.

Who can access the SEO Page Settings?

SEO Page Settings is a section under Content in the Mono Editor and is available to all Mono Partners.

However, if you wish to use the AI functionality, you will need to connect your OpenAI account. The below section explains how to do so.

How to enable AI for SEO Page Settings

To enable the AI functionality on the SEO Page Settings section, please follow these steps:

  • Create an OpenAI account and API key following this guide. Having your own OpenAI account allows you to fully control your AI expenditure and data.
  • Load a prepaid amount to your OpenAI account for AI token usage (see more information in guide above).
  • Submit a support ticket here to request access and provide your OpenAI API key.
  • Our Support team will enable the AI SEO functionality on your account and let you know when it’s active.

If you have already connected your OpenAI account for Quick Creator AI or AI Assistant in the text editor, you only need to submit a support ticket to request access.

Before using the SEO Page Settings

Fill in ‘AI information’ under global data

Before using the AI functionality of the SEO Page Settings, you need to fill in some basic information for AI to generate relevant content.

The AI SEO text generator takes this basic background information into account when creating text. The more details you provide, the better the AI content will be tailored to your needs.

Please note that each page should be named to reflect its content. For example, instead of generic titles like 'Page 1' or 'Page 2,' use descriptive names such as 'Home' or 'Contact Us.' These page titles help guide the AI prompts effectively.

To fill in the AI information, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Content > Global Data in the top menu.

  2. Open the AI Information page in the left menu

  3. Fill in the fields under AI Information.

The ‘Required information’ section must be completed for any AI functionality to work in the Mono Editor, including in the SEO Page Settings section.

Any information already entered on the Business Information page will automatically sync to the AI Information page, and vice versa.

The AI Assistant will generate content in the same language as the website’s setting. For instance, the website above is set to both English and German.

In the business category dropdown, there’s an option called ‘Other’. If you select this option, an empty input field will appear, where you must type out a category manually. If this field is not updated, you will get an error message when using AI that you should fill out the global data.

How to write SEO Tags under SEO Page Settings

The SEO Page Settings are available through the Mono Editor and can be accessed from Content > SEO.

Clicking the SEO page will open a page with two sub menus in the left navigation:

1: SEO Checker:

The SEO checker shows you where on the website you need to improve search friendliness. The checker is organised into the website’s pages as shown below, so you can easily navigate the SEO suggestions. You can also use the search bar to search for specific pages.

If you see a yellow exclamation mark next to the Page Title, it indicates opportunities to improve the page’s search friendliness, such as adding H-tags or alt text. Once all improvements are made, the page dropdown will appear empty.

2: SEO Page Settings

SEO Page Settings allow you to create a Page Title and Page Description using AI.

To create tags with AI, click the magic wand icon to the right of the text field. This will prompt a new overlay with three suggestions, created by AI based on the page title and the AI Information you provided under global data.

If you have already written text in the field, the AI will use that content as context instead of relying on Global Data or the page title.

You can also type in some keywords into the input fields, and they will be used for the prompt.

You can also click the New Suggestion button for up to five suggestions.

AI takes the page title into consideration when creating content for the page description.

You can create this content for all the languages available on your website. For example, in the image below, we show English and German.

You also have access to the same SEO options available under the individual page’s settings (accessed from the pages menu on the left side of the Editor). Any changes made here will also update the settings under page settings, and vice versa.

The available options include:

  • Don’t index this page
  • Don’t publish this page
  • 301 redirects

Page Keywords are not included in SEO Page Settings because Google no longer uses them to determine search results. However, they remain under the individual page’s settings for now, as some partners have already populated them.

Using the AI SEO functionality under each page’s settings

You can also access the AI SEO tool under page settings.

In the left navigation menu, select Pages > click on the page you wish to edit > Cog icon > Edit settings.

The AI content will be created in the language defined for that page. Therefore, it is important to select the page (not just hover over it) before clicking the cog icon.

Any changes made here will also update the settings under SEO Tag page.
