Find an overview below of which language(s) E-commerce+ displays in when opening in the Editor and when viewed by customers on the published website, respectively.
E-commerce+ interface language
The E-commerce+ interface within the Editor supports multiple languages. E-commerce+ shows in the same language that you have defined for the Editor. For example, if you are viewing the Editor in German, E-commerce+ also shows in German.
Find a list of supported languages here and a guide on how to change Editor language here.
There is one exception to the rule above:
- French-Canadian is not supported in E-commerce+. If this is selected as the Editor language, then the E-commerce+ interface shows in French.
E-commerce+ storefront language on published websites
The language of your E-commerce+ store on the published website (i.e. what your customers are seeing) follows the language of your website. For example, if your website language is Spanish, then the E-commerce+ storefront also shows in Spanish.
Only applies if using E-commerce+ modules
Please note that storefront and site languages only match automatically if you're using the Editor's E-commerce+ modules and not manually embedding the store with an embed code.
If your website is in a language that you have not created in E-commerce+, your storefront shows in your primary language (root language) of E-commerce+. For example, let's say you have a website in English and French but your E-commerce+ store is in English only. If a visitor accesses the French version of your website, the storefront shows in the root language (English).
Remember to set up languages in E-commerce+
The E-commerce+ storefront can only display in the languages that you have created through the E-commerce+ interface. For example, if you want to add Italian language to your store, you must add Italian product titles, descriptions etc. to your products in order to have them display.
Read how to add languages to your E-commerce+ store here and how to add translations to products here.
There are two exceptions to the rule above:
- French-Canadian is not supported in E-commerce+. If you have a French-Canadian website with an E-commerce+ embedded, the storefront shows in French if you have created that language in E-commerce+. If not, it will show in your primary language (root language) of E-commerce+.
- Galician language is not supported in E-commerce+. If you have a Galician website with an E-commerce+ embedded, the storefront shows in Spanish if you have created that language in E-commerce+. If not, it will show in your primary language (root language) of E-commerce+.
